County Recorder Liaison Committee
As MLTA’s County Recorder Liaison, I act as a connector between County Recorders and MLTA. I attend County Recorder/Auditor meetings where I’ve had the opportunity to build relationships with County officials, learn about changes to county processes, and participate in discussion topics as a member of the title industry.

The Minnesota Land Title Association’s Legislative Committee is responsible for introducing, monitoring, supporting, and where necessary, opposing, legislative and regulatory actions affecting the title industry here in Minnesota. The Legislative Committee works to represent the interests of the MLTA and its member companies, as well as consumers in real estate transactions, owners of real estate, and other interested parties. The Legislative Committee operates directly through MLTA member participation in meetings with lawmakers, including the annual MLTA Day at the Capitol, as well as through outside lobbyists. The Legislative Committee’s goals are to: ensure access to public land records; maintain the integrity of those land records; promote transparency in consumer real estate transactions; oppose unnecessary or overly burdensome impediments to real estate transactions; maintain open lines of communication with county officials, regulatory officials, and other real estate industry organizations; partner with the American Land Title Association (ALTA) on its industry-wide or state-specific initiatives; and monitor and evaluate trends in the Minnesota real estate industry and report concerns or opportunities to the MLTA Board of Directors.

We’re all about MLTA members! MLTA’s Membership & Public Relations Committee efforts primarily include the communication of the many benefits of MLTA membership. In addition, we coordinate the explanation and communication of the value to consumers in the use of Title Professionals in Minnesota real estate transactions. The committee reaches out to non-members, welcome new members and coordinates the association’s retention of existing members.
