Minnesota Title Professional Designation (MTP) Purpose:

• Reward those that have proven to be the best of the best in the title industry in Minnesota.
• Establish higher standards in the title industry in Minnesota.
• Encourage participation in the Minnesota Land Title Association.
• Recognize and honor those who have achieved the highest standards required for the designation.

The MTP designation reflects experience, commitment, education, and leadership within Minnesota’s title community.

MTP as a Pathway to National Recognition

The Minnesota Title Professional (MTP) designation also serves as an important stepping stone toward national recognition. The American Land Title Association (ALTA) requires applicants to first obtain their state designation, such as the MTP, before being eligible to apply for the National Title Professional (NTP) designation.

MTP is a Pre-Requisite for the NTP

One of the eligibility requirements for the NTP includes completing ALTA’s required education courses:

• Title 101
• Title 201
• Ethics
