This event is free, but registration is required. Sign up by Wednesday, April 4 so that we have time to schedule appointments with your representatives.
Legislators want to hear from the people they serve, and personal contact is one of the best ways to reach them. MLTA's Day at the Capitol provides this opportunity and is one of the most effective tools we have to communicate the value of our profession and to share any concerns that may impact its future.
Participation in MLTA's Day at the Capitol is easy! MLTA will schedule meetings between participants and their state representatives, provide an overview of pertinent issues, and share tips to ensure meetings are productive. All you need to do is register and show up!
The event is free and boxed lunches are provided. When the event concludes, we'll gather at W.A. Frost for an early dinner and socializing.
Preliminary Schedule
10:00 a.m. – Arrive and check in
10:30 a.m. – Introductions with elected officials
11:00 a.m. – What to expect throughout the day
11:30 a.m. – MLTA overview and discussion topics
12:00 p.m. – Boxed lunches
12:00 – 5:00 p.m. – Meetings with elected officials (time is approximate; attendees will receive their appointment times upon check-in)
We'll gather at W.A. Frost after all meetings have been completed which may be earlier than 5pm.
