Steve Gottheim, CFPB and the New Combined Settlement Statement
Steve Gottheim is ALTA’s Legislative and Regulatory Counsel. He will discuss the CFPB and the new 2015 Combined Settlement Statement. This will be a major change for our industry, and it’s never too soon to start preparing your clients and your staff for what’s in store. Steve works with regulators, legislators and industry organizations around the country to represent ALTA’s members, and has a broad perspective on issues of concern to the title industry. Take advantage of this special opportunity to gain insight into key national regulatory developments and recommended strategies to transition into 2015’s new settlement procedures.
Herb Tousley, State of the Real Estate Market in Minnesota – Economic and Development Outlook
Herb will present on the state of residential and commercial real estate in Minnesota. Mr. Tousley is the Director of the Master’s Degree Program in Real Estate and the Shenehon Center for Real Estate at the University of St. Thomas. He teaches real estate at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He is also the co-author of the University of St. Thomas Minneapolis/St. Paul Residential Real Estate Index and the University of St. Thomas Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Survey.
Rick Little, Railroad Rights-of-Way in the Chain of Title
Rick was the Deputy, Hennepin County Examiner of Titles, for 30 years. He currently is the Deputy, Examiner of Titles, in Anoka County and St. Louis County, and is also Senior Counsel at Commercial Partners Title, LLC. He is a member of Minnesota State Task Force on Electronic Real Estate Recording Legal Subcommittee. Rick is also an author of numerous articles on real estate law and a frequent continuing legal education lecturer on real estate subjects.
